Bedouin Soundclash

Now for my favorite reggae group, Bedouin Soundclash. Like Rebelution, this band's sound has really developed, going from a drier, more acoustic-driven tone to a fuller, more skaa-like sound with its characteristic upstroke guitar. This song is my favorite by Soundclash, from an older album called Sounding a Mosaic, but their new album, called Street Gospels (released last year), is pretty flawless. If you look you can also find Soundclash covers of Sublime and U2, pretty interesting takes on different sounds. The chorus in this song is absolutely addicting.

Rebelution

I've really gotten into reggae lately, so I've decided to put up some of my favorites in the genre. To start, here's a band called Rebelution out of Southern California, a group with a slightly darker sound than some others but that still has the mellow optimism that is undeniably reggae. If you check out their MySpace there's an older version of this song, which I have to say isn't nearly as good; but listening to it you can really see how far these guys have come, and you can really see how far from simple it is to achieve this sound.
