Amos Lee

Amos Lee's got a really good quality to his voice. He usually sings a pretty cabaret, acoustic style, but his last release, Supply And Demand, is definitely more blues. Being on the Blue Note Label, I guess that's about what you'd expect. The first three tracks on the album are my favorites, but the seventh track, Sweet Pea, is probably the most successful one of the bunch. You heard it on Verizon commercials at the beginning of the year, and you heard it so many times you got really sick of it. This one's a little less on the catchy, poppy side and more mellow (and slightly political), pretty typical of the album as a whole. And actually really good. Probably a more important difference? I think so.

Here's Freedom from Supply And Demand.
